Overview[]
The imperial palace is the official residence that houses the imperial family. It consists of several large buildings, vast gardens, and a lake. The current monarch, Emperor Claude de Alger Obelia, and Crown Princess Athanasia de Alger Obelia reside in the imperial palace. Each building is dubbed as a palace and has its own staff to serve the inhabitants.
Emperor's Palace[]
This palace is the main building where Emperor Claude de Alger Obelia lives in. In the royal throne room, visitors enter to seek an audience with the emperor. At the head of the throne room is a golden throne, where only the monarch is authorized to sit in. Behind the throne, a large, resting nook is fitted into the wall, filled with pillows, a mattress, and blankets.
Emerald Palace[]
The Emerald Palace is the official residence of princesses and is the current home of Athanasia. In The Lovely Princess, Jennette Margarita received the honor of living in the Emerald Palace after Claude acknowledged her as his daughter.[1]
Ruby Palace[]
The Ruby Palace is a building constructed for the emperor's harem. After many years of neglect, the Ruby Palace has become desolate and squalid. Diana gave birth to Athanasia in the Ruby Palace before dying. Claude subsequently slaughtered all the inhabitants and spared Athanasia's life on a whim. The staff was replaced, and Athanasia spent the rest of her childhood growing up in the Ruby Palace until the age of nine.[2]
Athanasia's Library[]
Claude ordered for a separate building to be erected to serve as Athanasia's personal library when she reached the age of 11. Knights are stationed at the entrance, and only authorized individuals are permitted to enter.[3]
Rose Gardens[]
After learning that Athanasia's favorite flowers are roses, Claude instructed to have rose gardens planted at every corner of the imperial palace. The rose garden in the Emerald Palace, where Athanasia lives, is especially exquisite.[3]
Lake[]
There is a vast lake on the grounds of the imperial palace. Its clear waters are deep and wide enough for members of the imperial family to enjoy boat rides on. A species of cannibalistic lotuses with translucent flower petals inhabited the earthy floors of the lake, luring curious onlookers with their deceptive beauty before using their long tentacles to strangle and devour the victims. After Athanasia accidentally fell into the lake at the age of 14, Claude ordered to have the lotuses removed.[4]
