Summary[]
After awakening, Athanasia asks Lucas to take out the branch of the world tree. Athanasia explains she begged the world tree for a method that could help in saving Claude, the answer was for her to personally use the world tree. This enrages Lucas, he explains it was highly likely she would lose her life. He fails to see the value Athanasia holds in her family, but is caught up in her wishes to protect them. Athanasia opens her eyes to a smoldering palace. To her horror, Athanasia experiences firsthand the destruction that is to come in her latest premonition. Felix describes the sorry state of the Empire, as anti-imperialists gather troops under the banner of the late emperor.
