Summary[]
After escaping Claude’s wrath, Athanasia quickly adapts to living as a fugitive, reduced to conjuring counterfeit money and magically disguising her face to survive. She visits the Alpheus household out of curiosity and witnesses Roger Alpheus refusing to allow Jennette to attend Countess Rosalia’s funeral. Athanasia leaves an anonymous letter at Jennette’s windowsill, promising to return in three days’ time. After some heavy consideration, she teleports to the Imperial Palace to check up on Claude.
