Summary[]
Athanasia is taken aback by Claude's leisurely nature as he reads over and compliments her work. Finding herself surrounded by a plethora of gifts, Athanasia remains unimpressed with the behavior of the nobility. When meeting Jennette, Athanasia is shocked to find evidence of her mistreatment within the palace. Athanasia agrees to accompany the anxious Jennette on a trip to see Anastacius. In a dark and damp cell, the princesses find the former emperor incapacitated, lying in a pool of blood.
